Albums, Layouts, and More with the Amazing Arlene Cuevas!
Today is a very exciting day, we start our 2015 Design Team Introductions! You will fall in love with this new team. Everyone is so uniquely and brilliantly talented. Today, we begin our intros with the beloved Arlene Cuevas! Many of you are familiar with the genius of Arlene, but we are so excited to have her on the Graphic 45 Design Team again! Her gift for altered art, layouts, and more are inspiring and breathtaking. We are so glad to welcome her back to the team!
Arlene Cuevas
"My name is Arlene Cuevas and I live in the sunny state of California! I’ve been married for 15 years and have 3 amazing, energetic boys. During the day, I’m a Business Operations Manager for an internet company. But I’m best known in the crafting world as “MyButterflykisses” on various social networks.
I’ve always had a passion for creating since a very young age. As a little girl, one would always find me on the dining room table working on a new project.
It was in 1994 when I attended my first craft party. Immediately after, I began dabbling in card-making and scrapbook layouts. I was instantly hooked on paper crafting! I found the scrapbooking community on YouTube in 2008 and grew quite fond of creating mini albums and altered art. I also enjoy stamping, Copic coloring, art journaling, and mixed media. I’m in my element when experimenting with and combining new materials on a project. I love to layer elements and marry unique products together. You’ll often see this in how I design my cards, scrapbook pages and altered pieces. I am a member of the YouTube community where I share tutorials and "how to's" on my YouTube channel "mybutterflykisses12". You can learn more about me and view my latest projects on my blog, (butterflykisseswithlove.blogspot.com), Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Snapguide. I am fortunate to design, and have designed, for several scrapbooking companies and I count my blessings for being welcomed into my 3rd term with the Graphic 45 design team. A crafter’s dream come true!"

First, we have a beautiful Time to Flourish wedding layout from the amazing Arlene. What a stunning photo, florals, and layers! A true Arlene masterpiece.
"Have you been putting off creating a keepsake from your wedding day? Now is the perfect time to commemorate your favorite wedding photos in a scrapbook page! I combined the gorgeous Botanical Tea papers with Time to Flourish to create this layout capturing one of my favorite moments (with my bridesmaids) on my wedding day. I love the soft pinks mixed with the vintage blue. And you never have to guess which card stock to grab, because Graphic 45 has it’s own Signature Series cardstock from Coordinations which compliments all of their paper collections!
Tip: Cheesecloth is not just used for polishing your silver! use it on your cards and layouts to add texture and dimension. On my layout, I use the cheesecloth to “fill in” space around the cluster of flowers." ~Arlene

It’s just gorgeous! ~Arlene

Secondly, Arlene shares a favorite. This is her mixed media Secret Garden album. This cover is so stunning! She shares a tutorial below of how to create one yourself.
"There is something about creating with mixed media techniques that is very “freeing”. It’s not about perfection, it’s your own art… it’s a statement of you. I had so much fun creating a mixed media cover for this mini album. The album is perfect to store photos and memoirs. I created a video tutorial showing you how this mini album cover came together. Enjoy!
TIP: When creating with mixed media techniques, go through your stash and select an assortment of metals, flowers, lace (anything with texture!) to add to your mixed media piece. Be sure to use a strong adhesive like E6000 or Glossy Accents to adhere metal and other heavy pieces to your project." ~Arlene

I created this altered Fall themed printers tray featuring Graphic 45’s super fun Steampunk Spells collection.
