Joanne Bain
"I am Joanne Bain from Queensland, Australia.
I am a very proud mother of 2 and I am happily married to my best friend and have been for 20 years. He is the best husband a girl could ask for and is very supportive of my paper crafting. Most of my inspiration for this craft comes from my wonderful family and friends and also the beautiful array of products that are now available. When I am not scrapbooking, I am kept busy with all activities involving raising a happy family and I like dabbling around with photography which is perfect as I always have something to scrap.
We live in sunny Queensland Australia along with our 2 dogs and more pet birds then I can count. I have been a scrapbooker for 13 years since my daughter was the age of 3 and then 10 years ago along came the other special boy in my life my gorgeous son, many of my creations tend to feature them. From as far back as I can remember I was always doing some form of craft. I have sewed, crocheted, knitted, painted and scrapbooked throughout my teenage years without even knowing it….lol.
My preferred scrapping preference is 12 x 12 layouts and creating off the page/altered projects. I am not locked into a specific scrapping style, as I am happy to give anything a go but I would describe my style as structured with lots of layers, fussy cut paper cutting, detail and dimension.
I do love to embellish my pages with chipboard, flowers and bling but sometimes I just love to let the gorgeous patterned papers available take centre stage in my creations. I am at my happiest with my scissors and beautiful patterned papers that beg to be fussy cut to create layers and dimension for my creations.
I am lucky enough to have been published in Australian Scrapbook Memories and Australian Scrapbook Creations magazines numerous times." ~Joanne
Keep Up with Joanne Bain
Joanne first shares her love for layouts with her gorgeous Artisan Style layout and video tutorial.
"For my first project I have chosen to create a layout tutorial. While I do love creating OTP projects, layouts are important to me as they go into my children's memory box. For my page I chose to work with the Artisan Style collection, I really love the mix of bright and dark colours. The papers in this collection called at me to be fussy cut and layered while the colours of the collection represent my daughters personality perfectly." ~Joanne

Next, Joanne shares a brilliant Steampunk Spells altered book to share her love for Halloween. Wow! This is so incredible.
"I have had a photo of the kids from Halloween last year which I have already created a layout with but I wanted to showcase it a little more than a I could on a page so I decided to make an altered book focusing on them and telling there spooky halloween story.
I created this book with a mixture of Graphic 45 papers from 3 different collections, they are Steampunk Spells, The Magic Of Oz and Curiosity Shop. This is why I love Graphic 45 papers they mix and match so well together.
Tip - Keep any old dress jewellery that is tarnished or broken you never know when there will be a use for it. I have added an old necklace to the binding of the book for extra trimming and interest." ~Joanne

Next, we share a wonderful French Country layout of Joanne's son. We love the inspiration behind this page and her son's great spirit!
"My little man he is a dreamer and in turn he has made my wildest dreams come true so I thought it was very fitting to create a page about him using a dream catcher. As my little man is a nature lover I wanted to create a country feel for my page and the Graphic 45 French Country papers were perfect for this. What says country more then sunflowers and roosters right? I fussy cut and layered all of the sunflowers and then topped my page off with the crowing rooster. I added lots of strings and coloured cotton for texture and to make it look and feel more like a real dream catcher. I added lots of texture to my background and added a very light wash of Dusty In Colour Hot Chocolate for added contrast." ~Joanne

"I got quiet scissor happy with these papers which are from the Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary collection, it was hard not to as they are beautiful and were screaming at me to be cut up. I have stayed true to my style and created a clean clustered white space layout featuring lots of detail and dimension featuring my beautiful daughter. I added a little bit of texture to the background and gave it a light wash of Dusty In Colour Faded Denim. As I wanted everything to be co ordinated I chose to make my own paper bow from the papers." ~Joanne

I love Joanne's work, but she has such wonderful product to work with. Though G45 deserves some credit, Joanne has to be a very talented person to be able to think and put it together so special.
