Maggi Harding
"Hi, I am Maggi Harding, and I am so thrilled to be part of the Graphic 45 family! I live in eastern North Carolina, but I claim the world as home. I have spent most of my life wandering, as a child with my parents because my Dad was in the Army, and, as an adult, because I wanted to. By the time I was 18 I had been to 9 different schools, lived in France, Japan, Germany, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and North Carolina. Since attaining adulthood, I have lived in North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Alaska and Colorado. I'm really not sure when I became an adult, but that's another story all together!
My husband and I share our home with our two standard poodles, Nika and Tisha. We love to travel and do so mostly in our RV so that our sweet furbabies can be with us. We have been from Key West, Florida to Fairbanks, Alaska and from the Pacific shores of California to the Atlantic shores of North Carolina in our well travelled motorhome!
I discovered scrapbooking in 2005 when I decided to make scrapbooks for my two best friends from college. It quickly became my passion and something that I spend hours doing and never grow tired of my efforts.
My style is eclectic as I do a little bit of everything. One day it's mixed media and the next day its classic layered papers. Two things I really love are vintage styling and bright bold colors. Truly, Graphic 45 was made for me! Its rich saturated colors and bold patterns are an artistic adventure for me; I always ask myself, what can I create, how can I make this piece of paper come to life? I love the challenge of combining those beautiful patterns with my photos to create a cohesive art piece. Scrapbooking has awakened my “inner artist” and satisfies the creative side of my brain that was long neglected during my career as a CPA. These days I am a happy retired, stay at home, crazy, paper loving scrap artist!"
Keep Up with Maggi Harding!
Maggi created an awesome Typography organizer for her Design Team responsibilities. This is such a fun idea for our crafters who want to remember various projects to try!
"I am a self confessed organization freak when it comes to things I have to do! To help me keep track of my design team responsibilities, I've created an organizer in a small 3 ring binder with dividers for different teams and tasks. The notebook I am using is 7 x 9" and I like the small size so I can easily take it with me where ever I go. You could use this for so many things, it would be a perfect gift for a bride to be who is organizing her wedding. How about for a busy Mom so she could keep track of appointments for the children, shopping lists, social occasions, birthdays, the possibilities are endless. You could use a standard size notebook and make a school notebook. Wouldn't that be such a fun project to do with a child?
My video tutorial takes you through creating the cover page for the notebook and creating the subject dividers inside as well as the design for one of the divider pages. At the end of the video, I've included photos of all the divider pages that I created so that you can copy them if you like." ~Maggi

Next, Maggi shares a gorgoeus layout using By the Sea. We love her great techniques on this!
"I've created a shadow box effect on this layout by fussy cutting the frame and part of the imagery from the title page of the By the Sea collection. I used foam tape and cardboard to pop this up from the background patterened paper, My Anchor.
I like to fussy cut my images and "insert" them into the scene on the page and I've done that here with my sweet little niece. Tip: To further the illusion of a fussy cut image being part of the scene on your paper, layer elements all around the fussy cut photo. On this layout I have layered diecut sea oats behind my image and the little ones printed on the paper as well as layering flowers and seashells around my image." ~Maggi

What a sweet dog house! Check out Maggi's template so you can make your own Raining Cats & Dogs paper dog house.
"This sweet little dog house was made with Graphic 45's ATC Box and the Raining Cats and Dogs collection. I altered the box by adding a roof that I made from scrap cardboard. It's a perfect size to hold a little bag of doggie treats or a fun toy for a wee pup. You could also use the tags that are included with the ATC box to make a tiny mini album.
I've included a pdf file that provides written instructions for building the doghouse and a template for the roof." ~Maggi

We sure do love this birthday card by Maggi using Time to Celebrate! It so beautifully folds and has such great layers!
"Here's a beautiful dimensional birthday card that's sure to please! Beaded trim and flowers add the perfect feminine touches making this a great card for Moms and girlfriends. My Snapguide tutorial takes you through the steps for making a step card and I also include a template for cutting the card. I use popped up layers to give my card dimension and tip of the day: Use cardboard (free!) rather than foam tape to pop up layers." ~Maggi
