Monthly Layouts and Layout Tutorial with Graphic 45!
There is so much scrapbook inspiration today on the blog. Jane Tregenza shares two heartfelt and beautiful Time to Flourish monthly layouts, and Robin Shakoor has a great tutorial using our new World's Fair! What a way to kick off the week.
First, Jane shares two incredible double layouts. We'll let Jane take it from here:
"July was month of reflection and reassessing just what I am going with my life after hearing the sad news of the passing of Heidi Swapp’s beautiful son Corey.
I came to know Heidi after she stayed with me for a few days when she was teaching in Adelaide in 2013. I had 3 very enjoyable days in her company. We talked about all kinds of things including our families and just our special all our children are to us.
So I was very sad to hear about Corey’s passing. It was very moving to read Heidi’s tribute to her son and to see the photos she posted. Her comments about why we scrap and how important it is record the everyday events in our lives is so true.
Corey’s passing reminded me just how precious life is and not to take it for granted. You never know when your time here will be over. Each day needs to count and not just be wasted. At the end of my time I want to be able to say that I made my life count rather than just having flitted it away.
During our life events happen that make us reflect on how we are going and gives us the opportunity to change our ending. It is up to each one of us to make our life the best we can, not in a selfish way - only thinking of our wants and needs, but rather how we can affect and can help those who come into contact with us in a positive way.
One of my daughters is expecting our first Grandchild, and with Corey in mind I decided to do a layout for Leah and Stuart – my daughter and son in law who are expecting their first child.
It is a very exciting time for our family as we watch this little “bump” grow and count down the weeks until our bub is here. Lots of preparation is going into getting everything ready. I have even been doing some knitting. I am so grateful to Leah and Stuart for giving us the chance to be grandparents and can’t wait to be able to hold and love our grandchild. So our family story continues and the next stage in our life is nearly commencing." ~Jane

"August is going to be a special month for me.
My Eldest daughter and her partner are getting married after being together for a few years now. We were very delighted to receive a phone calling telling us of their engagement. The wedding is being held in Sydney so we are all flying there to share in their special day. It is at the end of the month, so I have made the layout for them and will add the photos after the wedding.
I am so grateful for my wonderful sons in Law. After this wedding I will have three of them in my life. I have four daughters and only one son. So having three more beautiful “sons in law” is just amazing. Each of their mothers has done an amazing job of bringing them up. They are all so different and come from different walks of life. The one thing they all have in common is that they each love, respect and cherish one of my precious daughters. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for that. To have your daughters married to men that treat them well, love them and respect them is a real blessing. To be able to share in their lives and watch them grow closer together is a delight. For some this is not the case and my heart goes out to any woman in a relationship that is harmful to her and her health. Whether it is domestic violence or mental torment no one should have to face that. Easy to say, but so hard to change. I am so grateful that my girls at this stage in their lives are not facing this trial and hopefully never will." ~Jane

"This quick and easy layout is simple to create, yet packs a beautiful punch. I used a die cutting technique to create a pretty focal point for my page. Adding a large decorative image really brings interest to my page design. Embellishments are easy to create by cutting images directly from the gorgeous designs found on the pages of this collection." ~Robin

I started out as a scrapbooker so I really love seeing layouts that document all those moments that make up a life. Because of the bold designs that Graphic 45 uses it's great to see how your DT uses them effectively so that they still allow the photos to shine.
