Make a Magical Card this Sunday!
We love to share cards, and today Maggi Harding and Lori Williams have gorgeous ideas to share with us. It's a cardmaking Sunday!
Maggi has a beautiful idea with Mon Amour! Take it away, Maggi:
"Sometimes you need fast and easy and this card fits that bill! First, I cut a card for the base, 6” wide and 5” tall. Then I used Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders to cut the layered borders. Each border cut is around an 1” and they layer so nicely over each other. I love dies and use them all the time. I have a Cameo but find myself reaching for my dies most of the time. Oh but back to the card. After cutting 3 border pieces to layer, I cut the final piece which is 4” from the center point to the top of the card and layered on top of the other scalloped border pieces. Then I diecut another little frame piece from ivory cardstock, topped that with a cut apart that I popped up with foam tape, added some pretty flowers and some diecut leaves and that’s it, all done. ½ hour tops and you have a simple, but elegant card. That’s 20 minutes to decide on the papers to use and 10 minutes for the actual assembly! My tip for today is to invest in a few basic dies for card and tag making. Diecuts give your projects such a nice finished look and you can use the dies over and over again." ~Maggi

Now, Lori shares beautiful cards using Botanicabella. What a gorgeous set of step cards!
"To me this collection captures the essence of Graphic 45 and their paper. The colors are so beautiful but the images are just sheer elegance. I have adored this collection for years and was thrilled when it was re-released. I’m honestly already starting to have ideas of tucking some away for the future. The paper hoarder in me still lurks, LOL. These are a set of different step/easel cards I created that coordinate with each other but are different. I love cards that can stand on their own and become little mini works of art and you can decorate with instead of just putting away in a door long forgotten. Both the cards I beautiful but the one that I especially love is the bee card. Honey bees are one of those mysteries of nature if you study them. Some of the things they do science would tell you can’t be done, but they do it anyhow…such as flying. My oldest son was one of those miracles. He was disabled and amazed us all with how much he was able to accomplish. So we have always taken on the bee as our family mascot. When I started playing with the collection I knew I had to use the bees. They are so beautiful and I love the way the cards turned out." ~Lori
