Rare Oddities Wednesday Fun!

Rare Oddities Tri-Fold Brag Book, Rare Oddities, by Danielle Copley, product by Graphic 45, photo 1

Today, we share more great Halloween ideas. Danielle Copley and Maggi Harding share great memory keeping and home decor ideas. Get inspired with Rare Oddities!

Danielle shares an awesome album and video tutorial for this amazing Rare Oddities tri-fold brag book. We think this is so gorgeous!

"Graphic 45 outdid themselves with the Rare Oddities Collection. It has one of my all-time favorite patterns- paisley, along with skulls and potions and amazing colors! Since Halloween is fast approaching I felt the desire to make some fun pieces to get my home looking festively spooky.  Since I love to take pictures of my kids in their costumes but don’t take a lot, I created this tri-fold brag book that will hold just enough photos and can be stood up and displayed as a Halloween décor piece year after year, as well. I love double duty projects! I hope you check out the tutorial I put together for you and try one out for yourself. Change up the collection and it’s perfect for any occasion and is so quick to put together that they make great gifts, too!" ~Danielle

Now, how about some perfect home decor from Maggi? Amazing job! We love her great tips below as well.

"It's October and it's time for some spooky fun!  Really, what could be more fun than altering a cookie tin and getting all messy?  Believe me, before this project was finished I had paint, glue and mist all over me, my desk, the floor,  and everything near by including the poodles!

To make this tin, I started by painting it with black gesso, then I dribbled on some paint.  Next I applied a lot of different mists and sometimes dried between colors and sometimes not as I wanted the colors to bleed together.

Tip: I sprayed the tin with Krylon Fixative so that the colors wouldn't bleed any further when I painted on the matte medium that I used to glue down the paper strips, frame, and Mr. Bones.

The frame behind Mr. Bones, is diecut and then heavily embossed with gold and black embossing powders.  I also sprayed the center to make it a darker green.  It really was cut from Articles of Antiquity paper but that's hard to see!

I made all the flowers with the exception of a few small black roses.  I used some scraps and pages from the 6 x 6 Patterns and Solids pad.

Tip:  You can make your leaves and vines look more realistic by dabbing on some mists or water colors to give them a varied colored appearance as I have done to my vines.  I dabbed on an olive mist and then tipped the leaf ends with a dark red mist." ~Maggi

Loving these projects, just Fab .

Oooh, love both these projects! And thanks so much for the tutorials, gotta love it :-)

Danielle and Maggi rocked these projects! Rare Oddities has such pretty colors and each one of them brought out those colors in their projects! Danielle's choice of ribbon ... just POPS; and those flowers OMG !!
And Maggi's cookie tin OMG too fun ... check out her flowers ... just beautiful !!!

Love the album. Gorgeous!

Boy I don't know witch one I like better today. But I do know I am VERY glad I bought all the Paper in different sizes so I have enough to do 2 or 3 projects. Boy you really need to keep this paper in the Line up for next year !!!!! Either that or you need to mix and match this paper and last years Eerie Tales. I missed out on that paper last year. Pure Love here.

I enjoyed both Danielle's and Maggi's project videos-they did a great job. Fun projects:)

WOW! These area both breathtaking!! LOVE the tin and the trifold book ROCKS!! TFS!

Super spooky cool stuff on the blog today. You always impress me with everything you do!

How perfectly gorgeously spooky are these projects? A mini to display the Trick or Treat photos and (my favorite!) the stunning altered cookie tin - complete with wonderful video tutorials!!!!

Rare Oddities makes the BEST Halloween decor and projects! Love the colors and vintage spookiness

The tri-fold mini is clever and so pretty. I especially love that striped ribbon used for the closure bow.

Outstanding projects!

I love every product you sell!!

I love the idea of the upcycled cookie tin...actually have a few of those in my stash. It would be fun to decorate and refill with goodies for someone special for the holiday!! Thanks for the inspiration. Rare Oddities is a high favorite of mine to work with, there's so much you can do with the designs.

Love these designs! Thanks for sharing.
