The Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L & Graphic 45 Blog Hop: Day 3
Day 3 and the fun is just beginning! We are loving hopping along with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L! So many great ideas this week. And today we have even more inspiration!
First, Alexandra Morein has the most amazing set of projects with great video tutorials as well. How fun!
"Pop-up becomes now more and more popular in scrapbooking. Crafters seek for something new and unique to add to their creations.
Today I want to share with you a pop-up mini album, which has 3 pop-up elements’ designs and 6 pocket pages. It can hold 14 pictures of 5” x 3.5” and 6 more pictures of 3” x 4”.
It comes with a tuxedo shaped box, which was created from scratch out of chipboard. I have been thinking about the shape of the box quite a lot, and looking at the picture on the signature sheet of the “Off to the Races“ collection gave me the final idea. The most inspiring for me personally, funny as it may sound, were the gentlemen’s bows.
I created a fabric bow by myself, to put on top of the box as a finishing touch. I think it adds more character to the whole project and looks much better than if it was made of paper.
The three pop-up designs that I was talking about are called as follows:
- Twisted pop-up panel
- Automatic pull tab
- Z-fold pop-up panel
In the world of card making these 3 designs are very popular now, and since I mostly made cards before I developed my love and passion for mini albums, I decided to adopt the designs for the pages of the mini album.
In the accompanying tutorial, I will show you how to create the tuxedo box. I hope you will enjoy the tutorial and use the wonderful G45 papers for crafting along." ~Alexandra

Who doesn't love gorgeous cards? Kathy Clement has them for us in spades today. So many great techniques!
"Anyone who plays with paper has had to address the issue of dealing with scraps. Every scrap of G45 paper is so gorgeous that I can’t bear to toss it in the recycle bin. So, I used to have boxes and drawers bulging with leftover papers.
Then one day I realized that project scraps are really just cards in the making! Instead of cramming my scraps into a box or a drawer where they would languish (and multiply!) I started using them to create small note cards, thank you cards, and tags.
This set of 4 thank you notes is made from leftover pieces of a larger project. I added in some ATC thank you tags, chipboard flowers and ribbon and in under an hour, I had 4 cute as a button Cafe Parisian Thank You notes.
I’ve created a YouTube Video so you can start making your own quick and easy note cards utilising leftover bits of paper." ~Kathy
Tip: Use Scrapbook Adhesives Thin 3-D Foam Squares on the backs of ATC Thank You tags to add a dimensional layer to your cards.
Tip: Lightly mist the back of chipboard flowers with a little water before shaping with ball stylus and foam mat. This helps break down the fibers in the paper, making them easier to shape. It also releases the starch in the paper, so that the flowers, when dry, will hold their shape better.
Tip: Custom color your own designer ribbon with Distress ink. Choose ink colors that go well with your project, then smoosh the ink pads onto a non stick craft sheet. Spritz lightly with water until little beads form. Then soak the ink up with your ribbon, scrunching it in your hands to evenly distribute the ink. Dry gently with a heat tool.
