A Brilliant Masculine Birthday Card!
Do you have a hard time making cards for the men in your life? We know this struggle well, and Kathy Clement has a great idea for you today! Let's take a look:
"Baseball has always been a big part of our family life. We lived in Atlanta during the Braves heyday, and even though the games came on past bedtime for the kids, we always let them stay up to watch the Braves play. Our youngest son was just a toddler at the time, but that little fella knew the name of every player on the team and would call it out when they came up to bat or got on the pitcher’s mound. Needless to say, he grew up to be a huge baseball fan! One of the goals on his “bucket list” is to visit every major league stadium in the US, and he’s doing a pretty good job of it.
Whenever his birthday rolls around, I try to make him a baseball themed card. These card are always a “hit” especially when I use Good Ol’ Sport! No curve balls here! Just great vintage images and patterns that combine to make fabulous masculine cards!" ~Kathy
Tip: When layering patterned papers, it’s always a good idea to mat each pattern. Using the black cardstock in this composition prevented the patterns from becoming “muddled” and anchored the card design.
Tip: Don’t forget to use your scraps! I used lots of little leftover pieces when layering up this fun card.
Tip: Let the focal image take center stage! Use your embellishments and stickers to draw the eye to a focal image. When you cluster embellishments and stickers together you will gain greater visual impact than you will by scattering them individually across the card.
Tip: The postcards in this collection are a great spot for writing personal notes. Create a pocket (or two!) and tuck in pockets or score cards where you can write your own personal greeting.
