A Gorgeous Easel Calendar from Elena!
Elena Olinevich loves fussy cutting and shares how to create a gorgeous cover using fussy cut images! We love her layering and dimension on this cover with the great calendar pages following. You will love her video tutorial below to show her process of making this cover. Let's take a look at this fun weekend share:
"I like filling the calendar and planning my day, it gives me the feeling of time control. However I am still short in time dealing with daily routine. So I thought it would be a good chance to create a beautiful calendar and embellish it with fussy cutting details. Meanwhile I didn’t want and I wasn’t able to put many layers as I ‘ve used to do in my projects. So I only added some cut outs to fill in the pages.
Actually I couldn’t resist and made my cover more busy with fussy cutting. I filmed a from start to finish video so that you could watch my process of combining all the elements and there are some tips that I would like to share with you while embellishing your covers:
- If you are using dies to create the beautiful shapes, keep the negative leftovers and use it for one of your layers. You will get a beautiful shape, a background and a background with a window at the same time.
- Since you can not use the dimension for the calendar, however to escape using the flat layers, I suggest to use thin foam pads or a piece of thin cardboard. it allows the layers to pop up on the background and seize the dimension." ~Elena

Your calendar is very beautiful - think of the pleasure you'll have every month of the year! I like to make my own calendars, too, and it's true that you need to keep the inside pages fairly flat or your album comes out to be 3" thick! Thanks for the tip about raising the pieces just a little bit.

Elena, your project is beautiful. Inspired by the G45 DT, I did some fussy cutting with the Secret Garden papers last night. Yay me!
