Kathy Clement shares a gorgeous easel card using this new collection. You will love the tips she has below for this gorgeous project!
"I love it when wisdom and beauty can be found in the same place, don’t you? The new Portrait of a Lady collection from Graphic 45 is filled with dozens of gorgeous images, enticing colors and richly patterned papers. The typography pages are also brimming with wise and inspiring sayings like the one featured on this simple easel card: 'Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.' How true!" ~Kathy
Tip: Create a “stopper” for your easel card by backing a border strip with cardboard packaging or foam adhesive.
Tip: Give those “hard to use” letters from your Staples Kraft Alphabet Banner Tags a new life as a design element in a card! I traced the tops of these tags (Q and V) onto designer paper. ( Paper saving tip: No need to cover the whole tag, as only the tops will be seen. ) The decorative edge is a quick and easy way to add beautiful shaped layers to your card with a minimum of work.
Tip: I backed the focal image with cardboard packaging material to raise it up from the card base. This creates depth and dimension, and it also makes the image stand out.
Tip: My sentiment panel is die cut from the paper collection and glued onto a die cut doily. To make it stand out, I “framed” it with vintage trim.
Tip: Don’t have ribbon to match your papers? Make your own! I used a couple of drops of Tattered Rose Distress reinker (a perfect match for the vintage pink in this collection) on Ivory Seam Binding ribbon. Spritz liberally with water and squeeze to distribute the color all through the ribbon. Then dry with your heat gun and tie a bow. Easy peasy!
