Magda's Loaded Secret Garden Envelope & Kathy's Tea Time Box & Notecards Tutorial
Hello, G45ers!
Join us today as we reveal the secrets to crafting excellence with Magda Cortez's lovely Loaded Pocket of Secrets and Kathy Clement's tantalizing Tea Time Box. Magda starts us off with a great example of how to create something beautiful with the leftover pieces from previous projects and a little ingenuity. The result is a beautiful envelope that features pieces from both Secret Garden DCE and Place in Time DCE. A loaded envelope is great to use as a stationary set, an embellishment starter package for crafters, or a planner! After that is tea time with Kathy, featuring a Place in Time DCE and Café Parisian themed box and notecards. This impressive Shaker Top Box would make a perfect gift and the YouTube tutorial makes it a breeze to create your own. Before we dive in, it is time to announce this week's blog contest winner...
...and the winner is...Jean Marmo!
Jean left this comment on our blog: "Such wonderful inspiration!"
This week's blog prize includes an 8"x8" World's Fair paper pad, die-cut cardstock Tags & Pockets, a 6"x6" Time to Flourish paper pad, Shabby Chic Metal Keyholes, and a Regular Kraft Tag Album.
Loaded Pocket of Secrets
By Magda Cortez
"Hi All… Today I’m going to show you this Loaded Pocket of Secrets! Do you know what a Loaded Pocket is? Well one day I found these Loaded Pockets on YouTube and I fell in love!! It was the perfect project to use all my scraps! It can be made from an envelope or with your scraps, all the papers you don’t use for any reason..
My Loaded Pocket is full of all the pieces I have left from my old projects. For this, I use the Secret Garden Deluxe Collectors Edition.. A few chipboards, stickers, Post Cards, and fussy cut images I have cut in advance so I can take everything and start my Loaded Pocket! It was so fun and it is ready to give as a gift! I hope you like this idea!
XOXO" ~Magda Cortez
Tip:
Loaded Pockets almost always have a rosette. I use the same paper, a sticker from the collection, a few ribbons, and a plastic straw I wrapped with washi tape.
Tip:
You can cut the stickers & postcards, and put it in a little plastic bags and they are going to look great to fill your loaded bag.
Tip:
Embellish the clips with chipboards that are left. That’s a great idea!
Tip:
Seal the plastic bag with washi tape and you can add little details as I did.
I use the Place in Time November and December sheets to make my Envelope.

Tea Time Notecard Ensemble & Shaker Top Gift Box
By Kathy Clement
"You all know how much I love paper, but I also love tea and drink it every single day. Whenever I can combine my love for both of these things, I’m a happy girl. That’s why when I found this lovely image of genteel ladies sipping tea in the garden in the April pages of A Place in Time, I decided I had to create this special Tea Time Notecard Ensemble in a Shaker Top Box.
With Mother’s Day, graduation, weddings, bridal showers and summer birthdays on the horizon, this gift is sure to come in handy. Although it looks like it took ages to make, this elegant little ensemble comes together very quickly. Each card takes about 10 minutes to make, from start to finish. For a simple presentation, you could just tie them together with a lovely ribbon. But if you want to take the gift to the next level, house the notecards in this delightfully shabby chic shaker top box made with a G45 Ivory Staples Mixed Media Box. I’ve prepared a YouTube video tutorial so you can make one, too." ~Kathy Clement
Tea Time Notecard Box YouTube Video Tutorial
Tips:
- The G45 Staples Ivory Box has a lovely square window in the top. To make sure your paper layer matches up perfectly, cut a 5” square of designer paper and center it on the top of the box, securing with repositionable tape. Open the box and trace the opening onto the backside of your paper. Remove the paper and die cut with a slightly larger square Spellbinders Nestability die.
- To make a stack of cards in very little time, use the same “recipe”. Create an “assembly line” and prepare each paper layer, doily and fussy cut element. Stack them in order on your workspace. Tie all bows. Make all the card bases. This way, you can put each card together in about 5-10 minutes.

I, too, have discovered loaded bags and envelopes on You Tube...very interesting was to deliver a boatload of paper crafting goodies to someone. I generally don't mix collections, but I can see that these 2 designers have met the challenge. Nice work!!
