2 Easy Peasy Easter Baskets

Hello G45ers!

With Easter coming up quickly, we thought we would share two #SimplyG45 Easter Baskets ideas.  These are perfect for crafters on the go, or if you are looking to do some kid-friendly projects to do together as a family this weekend.  First up, we have a shabby chic basket by Sandy Trefger, followed by Nico Scrap's one paper basket.  Let's hop into these eggcellent projects. 

 

 

"Anticipation of the beautiful flowers of springtime and their many colors plus the wonderful designs of Graphic 45 papers inspired me to create this little Easter Basket.  You can either choose to alter a basket you have on hand or create a new one like I did out of cardstock paper and the patterned papers from any of the lovely Graphic 45 collections.  Because of their spring colors and images for April, I chose to use Place in Time & Children’s hour for my basket.  Add in fussy cut images, lots of spring flowers from your stash, ceramic eggs and of course chocolate bunnies!  Happy Crafting!" ~Sandy Trefger

 

 

Tip:

To create a paper Easter basket, first, decide on the size of your basket, then cut a piece of cardstock for the size of the bottom plus 1.5”–2” for each side.  Score all four sides of the cardstock for the height of the sides of your basket, and then make 4 cuts to create flaps.  Assemble with glue attaching the flaps to the inside.  Add a cardstock handle and decorate.  Colored tissue paper shredded or cut into strips makes wonderful basket filler.

DIY Spring Home Decor: 2 Projects from Aneta Matuszewska

 

Hello G45ers!  

Welcome to another creative day on the blog.  We have two gorgeous Spring home decor projects to share with you, both created by the queen of shabby chic, Aneta Matuszewska.  First up we have a table top centerpiece perfect for Easter brunch and great to add a pop of color and charm.  Aneta has combined two Graphic 45 collections, Botanical Tea, and Sweet Sentiments, to make this stunning centerpiece.  So don't be afraid to mix and match your collections and get busy creating!

Pearl Pens add a touch of dimension and shine completing this project.  

 

Add movement with your sentiments by adhering the ends down, making sure to leave the center popped out.

Next, we have a springtime wall hanging.  Look forward to Spring each year with fun home decor pieces to bring your walls to life.  Aneta has used our Time to Flourish collection to create this stunning project.

TIP 1: Use some sort of frame to highlight your image. 

 

 

A Metal Label holder, buttons, felt and lace brings this wall hanging together to take it to the next level.

The May Arts & Graphic 45 Blog Hop: Day 3

 

Are you having a blast this week? We know we are. May Arts Ribbon and G45 are a match made in heaven! Their designers and our Design Team have been knocking it out of the park so far this week. Well, the fun doesn't end here. Today, Maggi Harding, Danielle Copley, and Solange Marques have three perfect projects  using G45 Staples, paper, and May Arts Ribbon for us today. Let's get into the fun!

 

First, Maggi wows with our new Staples and Enchanted Forest. We are loving this combo. Gorgeous gorgeous!

"My design team box came the other day and it was packed to the rim with new staples and papers, it was a little slice of heaven for sure!  I was having a scrappy weekend at my house, so five of my scrappy bff's got to watch me unpack my box. Yep, they all turned green with envy as I removed each item from what seemed like a bottomless box of scrappy goodies!  I immediately zeroed in on the Enchanted Forest collection and all the wonderful new Staples!

Enchanted Forest has great sentiments on its cut-aparts that work great for a wedding so I created a tiny mini that would fit inside the regular sized Policy Envelope.  It'll be a great mini/card to include with a shower or wedding gift.   The mini is just two pieces of  8 3/4" x 6 3/4" black cardstock folded in half to create 4 pages, giving the mini 8 pages counting fronts and backs.  Then I punched two tiny holes in the center, on the fold, and bound the mini together with a 1/4" piece of May Arts silk ribbon.  I put photo mats in the mini as well as tags for journaling.

The mini  fits nicely inside the Policy Envelope that I embellished with a Kraft Imagine Tag.  I backed the Imagine cut out with black paper so that the Imagine word would really stand out, and then I used some cut-aparts and patterned paper to embellish the tag.   I added some interest to the cut-aparts by die cutting one of them with a Spellbinders frame.  Finally I added a pretty bow that I tied with May Arts silk  and leaves ribbons and glued the tag to the front of the Policy Envelope." ~Maggi

"Using a Graphic 45 Matchbook Box, I created a fun Easter box for candy. The March sheets of Children’s Hour provided beautiful images to create a layered scene. I love layering multiple bits of fussy cuts of the same image to add a 3-D effect to my little scene. The scene is inspired by traditional Easter activities of children sitting in the grass after Easter egg hunting. Beautiful May Art ribbons add a festive effect and their unique leaf ribbon is so perfect for surrounding the birds nest." ~Danielle
