Need Ideas for our DIY Craft Rolls?
Have you used our DIY Craft Roll Staples yet? They are so perfect for upcycling and all sorts of projects - gifts, covering larger items, albums and more! Today, we have great ideas from Elena Olinevich and Katelyn Grosart with these papers.
Elena shows how you can take boxes and cover them to match your home decor or create a stunning gift. This jewelry box is awesome!
"This time I tried to create with the DIY Craft Papers for the first time. What I can say it’s just how easy it is when you are planning to do a gift wrapping or recycling something.
I decided to decorate some old round boxes from papier mache into a Jewelry Box.
I topped the cover of the largest bow with the smaller box , that I have fixed with a hot gun and embellished it.
The 2 boxes are still functional, so you can easily open the covers and use 2 boxes for your jewelry.
However I wanted to look the embellishments cascading down, so I made a video tutorial for you to watch, so that you could easily recreate it.
Tip:
- The DIY Craft papers are not so thin as regular paper sheets. So if you making the embellishments or die cut something out of them, I would recommend you to make it more firm and sturdy. It’s easy to do with a thick piece of cardboard, you only need to glue it .
- While adhereing my die cut embellishments to the cover, I used a thin cardboard and a score bone. It will help you to fix your die cut perfectly.
All the tips can be checked in my Video Tutorial." ~Elena

"Upcycling is a whole new thing for me. I don’t normally do projects like this, but let me tell you, it was a ton of fun to create. One of the fun parts other than actually creating the project is finding the piece that you want to work with.
For my upcycling piece, I used a letter tray and turned it into a shadow box mixing the DIY Craft Rolls and Communique Deluxe Collectors Edition paper. I challenge you to also give it a try and create something out of a piece you really don’t like!
Tip: Be careful when cutting the Craft Rolls, as the paper can rip easily.
Tip: Add claw feet to the bottom of your shadow box to give it extra character." ~Katelyn
